Brief Description

Blind Judo Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) whose purpose is the introduction of Judo to all blind and visually impaired individuals starting at an early age. Ultimate goal would be to qualify for the US Paralympic Judo Team for those interested in advancing their skills in the sport of Judo and representing the USA.

The Blind Judo Foundation identifies head instructors and their Dojos (Judo gyms) interested in working with blind and visually impaired children and young adults. Many of our athletes end up competing in tournaments domestically, internationally and the Paralympic Games. At the 2008 Games in Beijing one of our elite athletes, who is totally blind, brought home a Bronze Medal.
