The Andrew Heiskell Library provides braille and special format audio books and magazines for people who are physically unable to read standard print and live in New York City or Long Island, NY.

Services Offered

  • Library Services
    • Provides talking books, talking book machines, large-print books, audiocassettes, and braille books for blind and physically handicapped persons.

  • Computer Training/Assistive Technology
    • We offer personal technology coaching and a robust range of topics in small group workshops. Get coaching on everything from using a computer, screen reader, screen enlarger, setting up email, learning to type, and getting comfortable with Apple iOS technologies, to finding helpful apps for independent living and using NYPL's research databases.
