My name is Dawn Clelland and I am a parent of 16-year-old twins Ryan and Alyssa. Alyssa was born with retinopathy of prematurity and is blind. I am very active in my home in Ontario, Canada and am currently the Liaison Consultant for VIEWS for the Visually Impaired.

My passion is my family — they are the best. My incredible husband and best friend, Jack, and of course, Ryan and Alyssa.

Next up would be equity and accessibility — I feel that most limitations are the man-made kind, and if we make our world as accessible as possible, for as many people as possible, our society can only benefit from it. It is vital that we advocate for the right thing, not the easy thing. I tend to think differently than most — we call it “the world according to Dawn.” I believe everything is obtainable and I plan on seeing all of my goals, for society come to fruition in my lifetime. I don’t see problems — I see opportunities for growth and I believe that one of the side effects of having a child who learns differently is getting to know all of the best people.

I also love camping, travelling, summer, and animals. I don’t enjoy housework or cooking, but can’t live in dirt and everyone has to eat, so I do both, way more often then I like.

I live in Kitchener, Ontario, and don’t know how I find the time to do all of the things I do.

In my professional “other life” I am a Real Estate Sales Representative.
