Julie Prause

Julie is a teacher of students who are blind or visually impaired from Columbus, Texas. She has over 17 years of experience teaching students ranging in age from birth to 22 years. She received her undergraduate degree from Baylor University and her masters’ degree with a specialization in special education and visual impairments from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.

In 2000, Julie was asked to help out with a new project with the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, providing online support for those educating children with visual impairments. This led to the creation of Resources for the Expanded Core Curriculum (RECC) housed at www.tsbvi.edu/recc. Currently, the RECC receives over one million visitor hits a year from people around the world looking for resources to help them better serve children who are blind or visually impaired.
